Lion Proves He Is King Of The Jungle

Recently a pride of lions that were feeding on a buffalo they had hunted and killed found themselves unable to protect their prey from a pack of hungry hyenas in Tanzania’s Ngorongoro Crater. However if you watch this video you will see a male lion quickly reassert who is the king.  This part of Tanzania is said to contain one of the densest populations of lions in the world. A group of safari tourists were able to capture the amazing encounter.

Trying to fight off scavengers

The video shows the lion pride feasting on its recently killed prey whilst at the same time trying to fight of hyenas and jackals from also feeding on the kill. Eventually a point was reached when the scavengers simply overwhelmed the lions and began devouring the prey. If you listen to the audio, you will hear one tourist exclaim “Look, here comes the big boy”

It’s good to be king

The video shoes the king of the jungle getting wind of what was occurring and charging towards the scrum clearly in no mood to mess around. The scavengers quick scattered in a hurry though the male lion did manage to detain one of them briefly. The tourists couldn’t contain their excitement at the action and shouted out how awesome the event taking place was.  Another tourist said it must be good to be king. We couldn’t agree more.
