Recently Floridian beach-goers at Okaloosa Island received some unexpected visitors whilst they were taking a dip off the coast. A number of sharks appeared in the shallow sea during the afternoon and one holidaymaker who was there managed to capture the whole thing on video. Stephanie Adcock was lazing on the beach with the rest of her family at about 3 in the afternoon when she said that seven sharks appeared in the shallow water.

Two sharks seemed to be fighting

Ms Adcock said the sharks were all between five to seven feet long and it appeared as if two of the predators were fighting. Ms Adcock posted a video of the sharks on the internet which showed three out of the seven sharks. Rather surprisingly people did not appear to be in the least bit frightened and instead began wading towards the sharks so they could get closer look.

Helping out a friend

In a newspaper interview Ms Adcock said her son’s friend was snorkelling in the ocean and her family was yelling for him to come back in. Everyone else out there had made it back out of the water but the teen was completely unaware of what was happening, so her husband ran out into the sea to help him.

Less than two feet away from the beach

Ms Adcock said that the sharks were less than a couple of feet away from the beach and remained there for about ten minutes. She said it was an amazing thing to see. She added that it was not obvious what kind of sharks they were but made a guess that they were either reef sharks or bull sharks.
