This Dog Displays Enormous Courage In Escaping A Wolf Pack

14th May 2018 UNDER Blog

This dog showed an immense amount courage quick thinking and was able to mount an incredible escape from a wolf pack that had been hunting it in the thick snow of the Southern Italian mountains. The footage is astonishing and shows the dog clearly being attacked by a menacing pack of three wolves in Abruzzo.

Wolves starting to target pets due to lack of prey

According to the Paolo Forconi who shot the video, wolf sightings in area over the last few years have been relatively rare, however the wolves motivated by hunger have started to attack and kill pets and livestock such as goats and chickens in the region. If you check out the video you will see the dog running parallel to a fence as the wolf pack begins to close in from higher ground. The dog appears to be either a Belgian Shepard or a German Shepard cross and its prospects initially look very dire. However, it changes direction and heads back in the direction it came in as the wolf pace continues its chase.

Incredible escape

The pack leader eventually manages to catch up with the dog and attempts to kill it, but somehow the dog manages to escape. Then a second attempt is made and yet again the dog manages to break free of the wolf bite. Despite two escapes it seems the end is not going to be pretty when the wolf pack seems to have the dog cornered against the fence. Fortunately for the hero in this story, the dog finds a small break in the fence wire, jumps through it and works its way to other side. The stunned wolves simply stand back in shock as the dog makes its third and final escape.
