Check Out This Adorable Video Of An Orphaned Baby Giraffe And His Best Friend

Recently a baby giraffe named Kiko was found abandoned in Kenya’s Meru National Park when he was just a week old. He was too young to survive on his own, however Kiko was lucky enough to be rescued by The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (DSWT). If you check out the video you will see Loboito the baby elephant that was also rescued by DWST hanging out with Kiko. Officials at the trust say they do not know what happened to Loboito’s mother or the rest of his herd, however, with no one to care for the baby elephant, he too would have died alone in the wild.

Love at first sight

It was love at first sight when Kiko met Loboito. These two adorable babies are now inseparable and apparently Kiko is sleeping next to the baby elephant. With the support and love of the people who work at the Trust, the two babies will have the opportunity to mature into full adults and be released back into the wild. The Trust operates an orphan sanctuary in Nairobi Kenya where a large number of orphaned baby elephants, giraffes and rhinos live. These animals are all victims of poaching. Poaching is major threat to wildlife across Africa, with many species teetering on the edge of extinction. This is why we need organisations such as the DSWT or WWF.
