Check Out This Video Of A Lioness Being Mauled By A Hippo

Never has the phrase curiosity killed the cat been more applicable than in this case. A young lioness got the shock of her life after she approached what looked to be a motionless grey lump. Instead what she found was an angry hippo. In this video, you will see the lioness walking up to the hippo from behind and taking a sniff of the animal’s rear end. The was enough to send the hippo jumping to its feet, but as the lioness attempts to make its escape, the hippo gets its revenge through a vicious attack that see it grabbing the lion by its head, and whipping it around before spitting it back out and running off.

It didn’t end well for lioness

In the video, the lioness seems to have escaped the incident unscathed but according to the person who shot the video, the lioness was later found to be dying from what appeared to be internal injuries. The footage was taken on the edge of the Maasai Mara wildlife reserve in Kenya.
