Check Out This Wild Coyote Enjoying Himself With A Ball

28th November 2016 UNDER Blog

Who knew that coyotes were just like humans? A YouTube video which was recently uploaded shows a Canadian coyote in complete joy when it chances upon a dog toy. The YouTube user who uploaded the video said he saw the coyote playing on a hill whilst he was getting ready to go to work. He adds that it is not often you get to see coyote’s stray so close to a house so he was extremely surprised when he saw one playing with the neighbour’s dog ball during the day.

Keep a safe distance

Some people think that if you see a coyote during the day it must mean that the animal is rabid. That notion however is a misnomer according to the Humane Society of the United States and other conservation organisations. Nevertheless, if you do come across a coyote it is not a good idea to get to close to it and instead you should watch it from a safe distance. You should also make sure any pets you have outdoors should not be left there unattended and be brought indoors instead.

Thousands of coyotes culled every year

Whilst we should take safety precautions, coyotes still have a lot more to fear from humans than we do from them. Unfortunately, the practice of coyote killing contests still occur throughout the US and Canada and are very popular. The US department of Agriculture and Wildlife Services also culls tens of thousands of these animals from planes each year. This is done so that livestock remains protected though the practice is harshly criticised by conservationists.
