Help WWF in Asking Thailand to Ban Ivory Trade

19th February 2013 UNDER Blog, WWF

WWF charity officials are asking for your help in demanding the end of the Thai Ivory trade by joining their ‘Hand Over My Parts’ initiative. In Africa, every day wild elephants are being slaughtered for their precious tusks and sold to the Asian market, and unless we stand together and raise our voices this dreadful trade will continue.

It is getting to the stage now that whole herds of elephants are being killed across Africa, with poachers working alongside organised crime bosses to turn South East Asia into the largest ivory market on the planet. The business is making millions of dollars, and pushing elephants numbers close to the brink of extinction. A loophole exists so that the sale of domestic ivory is allowed, but criminals are passing off African ivory on the open market.

By joining the WWF ‘Hands Off My Parts’ campaign, you will be telling the Thai Prime Minister that she has to help the world’s elephants by banning the trade in ivory. Simply click on the link below to add your voice to the growing number of people who want this disgusting business to stop, before it’s too late.
