Lion Attacks Car In Order To Impress Lady Friend

21st November 2017 UNDER Blog

After consistently being rejected by a potential female mate, a male lion at Kruger National Park in South Africa decided to adopt a different strategy in order to impress her. The lion did so by intimidating a safari car that was filled with tourists. Mark Williams-Wynn was visiting the famous safari park and was at a place where a number of cars had stopped so that their occupants could observe the lions. Mr Williams-Wynn along with everyone else witnessed the lion being frustrated by his potential mate and then started recording because he sensed something was about to happen.

Taking out his frustration

Mr Williams-Wynn says he thinks the lion decided to see if he could impress the female with some bravado. Alternatively, the lions could have been looking for something else to take his frustration out on. He adds at that point he quickly began to film because it seemed like something could happen. Fortunately, as soon as his camera began recording, the lion attacked the car and then turned around to the female as if to say to her ‘Look how brave I am’

Tourists must have been terrified

The occupants of the vehicle had not done anything wrong and were wise enough to have had their windows rolled up, otherwise something terrible could have happened Mr Williams-Wynn said. It is a fairly common occurrence to see a lion on the road in Kruger National Park, though it is not often they attack cars. Whilst nobody would describe what happened as an all-out assault by the lion. The quick swipe by the lion must still have been terrifying for the car’s occupants.
