Watch This Group Of Elephants Greet Their Baby After Returning From An Absence

21st July 2018 UNDER Blog

A small herd of elephants living in a sanctuary in Thailand went completely nuts after their handlers allowed them to leave their enclosure so they could greet an orphan calf that had been rescued. The herd of elephants resides at the Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai and upon their release they speed-walked their way to a barn where the baby elephant was receiving care.

Elephants are extremely social

If you watch the video footage you will see the group reaching their trunks out to touch the little fella and emitting a pachyderm purr. The baby elephant named Dok Geaw lost his mum to an infection when he was just a few months old. As a result, it was decided to raise the little fella at another centre for a few months until it was felt he was strong enough to join the herd.

Extremely heart-warming

Dok Geaw returned to the park recently and will continue to be fed milk by human handlers whilst also enjoying the company of his older elephant family. Elephant Nature Park was established in the 90’s to provide care for sick and injured elephants as well as other species. Make sure you check out the video, it really is quite heart-warming.
