Riff Raff is a 6.5 tonne bull elephant that has fathered more than his fair share of calves and has certainly contributed towards the cause of helping save his species for future generations. Hopefully this guy will be allowed to live because as things stand he is in danger of being killed by villagers in the South African province of Limpopo who see him as a nuisance because he raids their crops. Riff Raff doesn’t seem too interested in any rescue which required a massive operation to move him and failed the first time. He simply chose march home again.

Tragic Images Of Elephant Calf Without Trunk

Is it possible for an elephant to survive without its trunk? That may seem like a ridiculous question but unfortunately for one elephant calf in South Africa’s Kruger National Park this is a reality it must contend with and an answer that needs to be arrived at. Recently footage of an elephant calf with a short stump in place of its trunk emerged. No one is quite sure how it lost its trunk but the loss of the appendage should not be taken likely.

Rare Footage Of Sixgill Shark Captured By Billionaire’s Research Project

The crew on recently deceased billionaire Paul Allen’s research ship Petrel who were exploring the wreckage of a World War 2 ship off the coast of the Philippines using a remotely operated submersible were surprised when a shark with no dorsal fin suddenly appeared on their screens. One of the researchers can be heard identifying the shark as a Sixgill and asked the operator to zoom in on the rare predator. As the camera zoomed in the shark turns around confirming what was suspected, what the crew were seeing was an extremely rare sixgill shark.

Astonishing Footage Of Polar Bear And Dog Playing With One Another

An electrical worker in Alaska was able to capture footage of a local resident’s dog wrestling with a polar bear and amazingly enough actually winning the encounter. Christopher Miller said he arrived for a job when the owner of a property asked him if he would like to see a polar bear. Mr Miller than followed the individual to his house where he came across the resident’s dog tussling with a polar bear.

Tourists visiting the wilderness of the Canadian Arctic on a fly-in polar bear safari got their money’s worth when they had a breath-taking encounter with a mama polar bear and her two 2-year-old cubs. Fortunately for the tourists, they were safely positioned behind an electric fence so were not in any danger whatsoever, but if you check out the video, you will see the polar bears approaching the camp from the distant sea ice.

Recently tourists at a safari park in Ukraine had a remarkable experience. A lion climbed over the lot of them and even licked one in the face! This is actually a little disturbing given the fact that just a few weeks earlier, a woman was mauled by a lion at the same spot. If you watch the video you will see an untethered lion climbing aboard an open vehicle filled with tourists at Crimea’s Taigan Safari Park.

Whale watchers on a boat trip of the Alaskan coast were surprised by a humpback whale that decided to breach right next to where their boat was sailing, soaking everyone in the process. One of the members of the tour group was lucky enough to capture the whole encounter on video and posted it to social media. The incident took place during an excursion organised by TAZ Whale Watching. If you check out the video you will be truly amazed and probably jealous of just how close the tour group got to the whale.

Some veterinarians who were visiting a lion sanctuary in South Africa found their mission became incredibly expensive when one of the big cats became curious and ended up popping three of their car tires. The whole episode was captured on video by one of the veterinary workers at the Glen Garriff Conservation Lion Sanctuary.

Recently The Atlantic White Shark Conservancy posted a video on social media showing biologist Greg Skomal who works with a state government agency in the United States having a very close encounter with a massive great white shark off the coast of Massachusetts. Mr Skomal had been attempting to place a tag on the apex predator which is certainly not something for the faint hearted. As he tried to tag the great white, it leapt out of the water and was literally within inches of the biologist’s feet.

Imagine coming how from work only to be greeted by a reptilian apex predator. Well that is exactly what happened to two chaps returning from their jobs in Australia’s Norther Territory who came across a large crocodile blocking the road. They managed to capture the encounter on video which shows the two men driving on an unpaved road and then encountering the croc who was relaxing in a puddle in the middle of the road.
